The CI factory is the company's new production location, close to the headquarters on the A66 motorway. Engelbert Strauss uses state-of-the-art logistics to create new opportunities for customising workwear.
A particular highlight is the glass shoe factory. Using a modular system, the customer can put together customised and branded company footwear from a variety of components. According to Engelbert Strauss, this is the only system of its kind in the world. Individual mould and last sets enable a wide variety of fits and a choice of cushioning, according to wearer requirements. The look of the shoe is also more individual than ever.
An important component of the CI factory concept is the high-tech logistics. A total of one million storage locations, more than 13 kilometres of conveyor systems, Europe’s largest spiral conveyor and futuristic shuttles – cutting-edge logistics solutions support the employees.
