Tested and approved routing systems with centre suspensions for maintenance of electrical function

If there is a fire, the cables are subjected to extreme loads from flames and heat.
Nevertheless, they must be able to withstand temperatures of up to 1000 °C and higher for a specific period of time, without there being a short-circuit of the copper conductors.

One can imagine the support system as a kind of support corset for the cables.
It is given special significance with regard to the maintenance of electrical function. OBO Bettermann offers a wide portfolio of support structures and routing options and is continually expanding this product range.

A further routing system approved for the maintenance of electrical function is the centre suspensions for the RKSM 6 cable trays and the mesh cable tray type GRM 55 200. Appropriate constructions testing certificates are available.

Routing system with centre suspension: The RKSM 6... cable tray

The RKS-Magic cable tray has been tested as a cable-specific support construction for the maintenance of electrical functionality according to DIN 4102 Part 12 and approved for the maintenance of electrical function classes E30 to E90.

The support structure as a light-duty routing system consists of a centre suspension and a centrally arranged threaded rod as a suspension component and can be installed simply, quickly and with only a few components. The screwless connection system allows interconnection of the RKS-Magic cable trays without tools and in a particularly quick and economic manner.

To ensure the maintenance of the electrical supply, only the locking lugs in the base need to be bent after the trays have been connected. The double material thickness in the joint area and the beading in the base mean that the cable tray has a high load capacity. Installation of fittings in the section is permitted.

Installation principle of the RKS-Magic cable tray

The first installation step is the insertion of the centre suspension. After the threaded rod has been turned into the centre suspension, it is secured with an additional hexagonal nut.

After the centre suspension has been screwed into the tray base, interconnection of the cable trays creates a straight connection.<br/> Then only the locking lugs in the base need to be bent after the trays have been connected. The result: A screwless joint connection.<br/> Additional fittings can be mounted quickly and simply using the screwless Magic connection.

Routing system with centre suspension: The GRM 55 200 mesh cable tray

The GR-Magic mesh cable tray has also been tested as a cable-specific support structure for maintenance of electrical function according to DIN 4102 Part 12 and approved for maintenance of electrical function classes E30 to E90.

Besides the centre suspension, the light-duty routing system consists of a centrally arranged threaded rod as a suspension component. Thanks to the screwless connection system of the GR-Magic mesh cable tray, it can be mounted without tools and thus particularly quickly and economically.

Installation principle of the GRM 55 200 mesh cable tray:

The centre suspension is fastened at the same time as the threaded rod is mounted. For this, the retaining rail is positioned under the mesh cable tray and the clamp piece inserted into the tray directly above this.
Then the actual fastening takes place through insertion and screwing of the threaded rod with the two parts.
The individual lengths of mesh cable tray are simply interconnected and form a mechanically secure joint connection, without additional glands and connectors.
In addition, additional fittings can be mounted quickly and simply using a joint connector.
