Surge protection for PV systems always has two sides: Both on the direct current side and on the alternating current side, surge voltages can be coupled into the system for all kinds of reasons and, for example, damage the inverter. Range of variants for a safe photovoltaic system
The generator connection boxes are available in two variants: Both with type 1+2 arresters for buildings with external lightning protection and also with type 2 arresters for buildings without an external lightning protection system.
The portfolio contains generator connection boxes are available for up to three Maximum Power Point Trackers (MPPT for short), as well as variants for up to four strings per MPPT. The cables are connected quickly and safely using terminals with push-in technology. The different sizes of the generator connection boxes and pre-termination variants mean that they are suitable for a wide range of individual installation situations.

The robust, UV-resistant housing of the PV generator connection boxes consists of heat-resistant polycarbonate and possesses a protection rating of IP66. This means that they are fully touch-resistant and dust-tight. It also means that they are suitable for installation indoors and outdoors. The transparent cover of the boxes offers a clear view of the surge protection and thus simple function checking.
Thought-out down to the last detail
The OBO generator connection boxes are supplemented with a pressure compensation element, the cable gland and the external fastening straps, which are contained in the scope of delivery of every box. Even these small components provide decisive benefits: The external fastening straps can be attached very easily and also allow a simple arrangement of multiple generator connection boxes. Should the photovoltaic system be expanded at a later time, then the generator connection boxes can be expanded simply for their own protection and arranged with the existing boxes. The pressure compensation element prevents the formation of condensation in the generator connection box.
