isCon® ASE connection element
Patented ASE technology for simple function testing of insulated conductors
OBO Bettermann presents new connection elements for the isCon® conductors with adaptive switching element (ASE). Thanks to the patented ASE technology, a connection between the inner copper conductor and the outer semi-conductive layer of the conductor is created only if lightning strikes. This allows an insulation test according to VDE 0185-305-3 IEC/EN 62305-3) and guarantees the safe functioning of the conductor.
Testing for proper function and electrical continuity can be carried out with the simplest insulation testers (≥ 1 kV) and guarantees maximum system availability – with no shutdown, disassembly or testing with dangerous pulse voltages required. A detailed isCon® test record can be conveniently called up via a QR code and then completed and saved or submitted.
The new isCon® ASE connection elements are system-tested according to VDE V 0185-561-8 (IEC TS 62561-8) and can be used for all lightning protection classes.
