OBO invests in its Menden and Bugyi sites

OBO Bettermann invests int its sites in Menden and Bugyi in Hungary. The electroplating and the logistics department in Hungary should be expanded. This creates about 100 additional jobs at the Hungarian OBO site. Ulrich Bettermann Chairman of the Executive Board, is optimistic even in times of crisis: “We have made provisions.”

At the OBO site in Menden, planning is underway for an expansion of more than 50,000 square meters. In a first step, the external warehouse is expanded, afterwards the construction work for a new production site with an included logistics department is about to start. The investment amount is here about 60 million euros.

OBO is present in Hungary since the early 1990s. Starting in 1993 with a rented sales office, the Hungary site wit 1.300 employees has become the largest OBO representation outside of Germany. More than half of OBO’s annual turnover of 800 million euro is generated abroad.
To mark more than 110 years of the company's existence, a ceremony was recently held in Hungary with around 400 guests.
