Electrical tests

Insulation test:

Surge protection devices are tested according to DIN EN 61643-11, electrically insulated electrical installation duct systems are tested according to DIN EN 50085-1 and junction boxes according to DIN EN 60670-1. In so doing, the voltage resistance of the insulation is tested at the highest continuous operating voltage for surge protection devices or at the measured voltage of electrical installation duct systems and junction boxes. No arcing may occur during the insulation testing of surge voltage protection devices with a test voltage according to Figure 5, with a test voltage of double the measured voltage + 1000 V on electrical installation duct systems or a test voltage according to Figure 5 on junction boxes.

Conductivity test:

Electrically conductive cable support systems are tested according to DIN EN 61537 and electrically conductive electrical installation duct systems are tested according to DIN EN 50085. The conductivity is tested at connection points with an AC current of 25 A. The impedance (measured voltage/AC) may not exceed 5 m/m along the length of a cable support. The impedance may not exceed 50 m across a connection.

EMC testing:

Cable-dependent EMC testing with surge voltages of 1.2/50 and 10/1000 and surge currents of 8/20 and 10/1000 using a hybrid generator. The hybrid generator is an automatic testing station, upon which data cable protection devices can be tested to the standard according to EN 61643-21. Examination of coupling mechanisms: a surge current is run through an antenna structure,
which generates an interference field. In this interference field, the coupling of interference voltages into a cable are measured, taking various routing types into account. The shielding effect of cable support systems and electrical installation cable systems is examined.
