The new generation of underfloor boxes
Standing still means taking a step back therefore, OBO Bettermann is always interested in optimising and developing its products. For this reason, the UZD3 underfloor box range underwent a technical and optical revolution, in order to meet the current requirements for practical, easy-to-mount systems.
External values:
Smooth external walls and an internal, decouplable height-adjustable unit make it possible to embed the boxes in any type of screed. The top frame of the box has a continuous contact edge, guaranteeing box load capacities in the screed, even when the box body is disconnected. Disconnection runs up to the lower edge of the box top frame. OBO has placed particular emphasis on a considerable reduction of mounting times. Height adjustment was simplified by a height-adjustment unit which can be decoupled from outside. The height-adjustment screws are uncoupled from the box base from above using unlocking pins; the top frame can be aligned to the appropriate height by lifting it. Fine adjustment is carried out after the unlocking pins of the screws are removed. Of course, height adjustment can also take place directly using the four heightadjustment screws. |
Inner values:
The patented height adjustment allows the decoupling of the box cover from the base, which, especially in the case of heating screeds on insulation layers, means that movements of the screed plate cannot be prevented by the box body. Decoupling is carried out after the screed has been laid and can be carried out from the box internally or from outside, according to requirements. Effective noise protection is also guaranteed: the decoupling means that there is no transmission of noise to the raw floor.
UFD3 The advantages at a glance:
- Known system sizes: 250 and 350
- Duct width: 190, 250, 350 mm; duct height: 28, 38, 48 mm
- Increased height-adjustment range in three stages (70125 mm, 115170 mm, 165220 mm)
- Refitting kits for changes to the height-adjustment area (longer screws, higher side walls)
- Option of decoupling the box top frame from the box base (after screed laying)
- Quick adjustment of the construction height
- Load capacity before screed laying (according to DIN VDE 0634 Part 2): 750 N
- Load capacity after screed laying (according to DIN VDE 0634 Part 2): 1,500 N
- Use of known expansion parts (mounting lid, cassettes, etc.) still possible
- Fastening holes in base plate for position fixing
- Connection option for protective conductor connection brackets for protective measure according to DIN VDE 0100
- 4 mm mounting lid for UGD-3 empty and underfloor boxes with defined opening for GES installation unit or height-adjustable cassette
