Modern rooms and office landscapes place specific technical and architectural requirements on form and function. OBO media columns and Ackermann installation columns offer the very solution: the intelligent cable routing system for data and energy emphasizes design, creates order in the installation and guarantees safety. Cable chaos is finally a thing of the past! The latest additions to the media and installation column range mean that planners, architects and engineers now have full freedom when in comes to design.

The freedom of spatial mobility
Whether in large offices, administration buildings, checkout areas of department stores or production halls – OBO’s modular system enables supply points to be freely positioned near to the workplace. A change of room use is possible at any time. This means the highest possible degree of freedom for user and architect.

This versatile media column system is based on five profiles that can be assembled with OBO EGS products. New to the range are the oval forms in single and twin-duct design. The range includes media columns in pure white and anodised surfaces. Other RAL colours can also be provided. Floor medium columns, media column centre, installation columns

The floor media columns come in standard heights of 250, 500 and 675 mm. They can be placed near to the desk by floor-mounting or by attaching to the underfloor system. Media is supplied through the floor.

The highlights in this floor range include the media column centre. Its compact design enables it to be fitted with switches and sockets on all four sides, so it can be placed wherever there are numerous workstations within a constricted space.

Floor–ceiling media columns and installation columns
The floor–ceiling media columns are available in the standard length of 3,000 and in a host of different designs. They are fastened by a clamping device at the end of the column. Alternatively, the media columns can be bolted permanently to floor and ceiling via base plates. The clamping device is adjustable from 300 to 500 mm and adapts to the actual room height. This brings the overall length to between 3,300 and 3,500. As well as the standard range, a number of alternate sizes from 60 cm to four metres can also be offered. The media supply is guaranteed through the underfloor system or the false ceiling.

Pre-wired media columns and installation columns
The floor–ceiling media column range include several product innovations, such as the pre-wired media columns. These are fully equipped with connection cables and supplied with a test certificate. The benefit to the customer: the media column simply has to be erected and connected. It can also be individually fitted with other sockets and data technology. This minimises installation effort. If the room use is changed, the media column can easily be erected and connected at alternative locations.

Lighting at media and installation columns
Another new model enabling lighting to be installed features a fastening for the particular lights concerned. Customers and planners can therefore integrate the media column into their particular existing lighting concept.

Media and installation columns with stand system
The third new product is the innovative media column with stand system. This can be positioned anywhere in the room. Media is supplied via a tube that routes the cables to the media column. The media column can be moved within a certain radius depending on the room height. Fitting with Modul 45 The media and installation columns can be fitted with conventional switching devices or with the quickinstallation Modul 45 technology. These devices are fitted into the media columns via adapters.
