OBO‘s Top Model:
First-class Cable Management

When designing offices, a forward-thinking, functional approach is required.

As the third top model after the WDK and GEK models, OBO‘s cable management enters the spotlight: with dimensions to fit any environment, and a timeless appearance, OBO‘s Cable Management Commercial and Residential (CMCR) product range can offer individual solutions, which give planners, architects and users almost complete freedom, with regard to design and flexibility. From resistant hard PVC, through robust sheet steel, to high-quality aluminium, it is not just the material which can be chosen freely. With the steel and aluminium versions, alongside the standard colours special colours in all RAL shades are possible, as are special lengths.

When developing the CMCR system, the OBO specialists have taken into account the fact that the installation of power, communication and data technology must not only be carried out correctly, but also must be adapted to the local conditions. The OBO top model can hide „unattractive“ heating convectors and window niches behind elegant panelling, which, if necessary, can be removed quickly – reinstallations or repair work can be carried out easily and at any time.

Service poles, which fulfil all the technical and architectural requirements of modern communication cable guides, round off the portfolio of the CMCR top model. The ingenious, modular system allows free positioning of supply points close to the workstation. In open plan offices and administrative buildings, the service poles provide a high level of freedom. The cable management model likes variety: the basis for this wide-ranging system is formed by steel and aluminium profiles, which can be equipped with OBO EGS systems. There is no mess of cables, instead there is safe data and power transfer to the workstation – OBO makes it possible. Service posts of the standard height 250 to 680 mm are mounted on the floor or on underfloor systems and supplied through the floor. By comparison, floor-ceiling service poles are available in the standard length of 3000 mm and in various designs and, using a special clamping unit, can be positioned up to four metres apart. Power is supplied through the underfloor system or the false ceiling. The top model can deal with even the most individual of customer requirements: OBO can pre-wire service poles according to requirements and hands the products over to the customer along with a report of the function test. The compact protective contact sockets from the Modul 45 range are used to install devices in these poles. In the standard product range, these sockets are available with a 33° connection direction, making it possible to use angle connectors in vertical sockets. The result: extremely low mounting costs and time, as the poles simply need to be erected and then, in the false ceiling, connected to the previously installed sockets and data sockets.

Examples showing the experience and expertise of OBO Bettermann. For the user, this means practical and flexible solutions for almost any problem when planning workstation supply systems. Thus the Cable Management Commercial and Residential product range completes OBO‘s wideranging LFS products: together with the WDK hard PVC cable routing duct and the GEK division with the GEK-K Rapid 45 device installation duct and the GEK-K 90 mm cover, the systems‘ provider from Menden can offer an attractive trio to quicken the pulse of any installation engineer.
