11/2010 OBO isCon®-System - Lightning protection class II (150 kA)


Tests in the OBO lightning current laboratory have proved that the isCon connect connection element, together with the isCon cable and the isCon AP1 2-16 VA connection plate, is designed for lightning currents of 150 kA 10/350.
With a lightning protection system of lightning protection Class II (IEC 62305), only an isCon cable can route the lightning current safely from the air-termination system to the conductor system. When used, the current mounting instructions and the tightening torque of 24 Nm on the connection plate must be observed.


08/2010 Additional information for the potential connection of OBO isCon®-conductor

Further measurements in a high voltage laboratory have shown that the potential connection of the isCon conductor varies in dependence of the calculated separation distance.
The adjusted distance of the PA-clamp up to the connecting element -isCon-connect- is shown on the table below and on additional graphics.
