New compact class
The first 63 A lightning coordinator in a 35 mm housing.
OBO LightningCoordinator Typ LC 63
The OBO LightningCoordinator LC 63 establishes coordination between spark-gap-based lightning arresters (requirement class B) and varistor-based surge arresters (requirement class C), where, because of the application, these devices have to be installed less than five metres apart.
The lightning coordinator also ensures coordination of NPE arresters of different requirement classes. If there are two or more surge protection devices in an installation, they may influence each other. This is why coordination of arresters connected in parallel is necessary.
Typical application examples: Compact surge protection concepts in a separate housing, and installations of requirement class B and C arresters within a distribution box.
The benefits:
- Compact design in 35 mm housing
- Two input and two output terminals
- Separate channel in the lower side area
- Rated current up to 63 A
- Outstanding inductive characteristics with transient and energy-rich lightning currents
- Protection caps to mark the connections
Easy to install:
The LightningCoordinator is designed for rapid, professional installation. Its design means that it can be installed in a conventional distribution box housing on a standard NS 35 rail to DIN EN 50022. It is connected to the incoming supply after the meter, but before the requirement class C surge protection. The number of coordinators that should be installed depends on the number of conductors to be protected and on the existing supply system. The connection terminals in the device are bridged from top to bottom.
