Life Control with OBO

It is often necessary to check the functionality of the overvoltage protection devices within a data cable. In doing so, the actual measurement must not have any negative impact on the data signal. This is a problem which OBO Bettermann has tackled: the company developed the “Life Control” testing device. It allows the checking of the protection devices when installed without any impact on the data signal.

The appropriate lightning barrier is contacted quickly using the testing pin. The test result is displayed immediately on the integrated OLED display, via the integrated microprocessor – and underlined with the appropriate acoustic signals. OBO has even thought of “dark” areas: an LED can be switched on at any time, in order to be able to see in poorly lit distributor cabinets. A high-quality testing case for safe transport and documentation of the test results is a constituent part of this innovation from OBO Bettermann.
