Both space-saving and ensuring compliance to the separation distance – even in complex building structures

The OBO isCon® system provides reliable, standard-compliant lightning protection. Installation is uncomplicated and effective; the system can be universally applied and takes into consideration the requirements of both architects and building owners.

By using the free of surface discharge and high voltage-resistant isCon® conductor, the required separation distance between interceptor units and electrical installations can be realised even in complex building structures, where conventional conductors are highly difficult to install.



The isCon® conductor substitutes, in accordance with VDE 0185-305-3 (IEC 62305-3), a separation distance of 0.75 m in the air and a distance of 1.5 m with solid building materials – characteristics that have been confirmed by independent test centres.




Easy retrofitting and combination with existing lightning protection systems
Retrofitted roof structures and antennas must be integrated into the existing lightning protection system. Separation distances that can’t be complied with can easily prove difficult. The isCon® conductor alleviates the required distance of up to 0.75 m. Even when there is little space, it ensures that the new building structures are well protected.

Complete flexibility at the building site
The isCon® conductor is supplied by the metre and is cut exactly to length, to the centimetre, and can be fitted to match the requirements at the site. This means that ordering pre-fitted cables is not necessary and it enables you to work in a flexible and economic manner according to the actual conditions.



Safety-tested
A lightning protection system has to provide its full functionality in case of a lightning strike, and make certain of the electromagnetic compatibility of the installed electrical systems. The effectiveness of the isCon® conductor has been confirmed by an independent high-voltage laboratory. The connecting elements have been tested in accordance with LPS component standard DIN EN 50164-1 and feature a current-carrying capacity of 100 kA 10/350.
